It’s often easy for Amazon resellers to think of brands as just another company. So easy, in fact, that we can sometimes forget that the company is also made up of people – and people with families, children that rely on them. As we head into the 2017 trade show season, it’s important for Amazon sellers to really be present and mindful of the ecosystem of the niche they are selling in. It’s equally important that brand owners are also aware of that ecosystem as well as their part in it.

The actions that brand owners and resellers take significantly affect the way other businesses, brands, and sellers manage their business and help bring brands to the market. That’s why today, I want to talk about how the butterfly effect takes place within the reseller community and how it affects the manufacturing communities as well.

 

Don’t have a cash grab mentality with a brand. Have a partnership mentality.

Today Robyn talks with Cynthia Stine – THE expert in account reinstatement on Amazon. In addition to selling on Amazon.com for the past five years, Cynthia writes a popular blog at Online Sales Step by Step and consults with Amazon sellers on their business issues. In 2014, her clients started turning to her to help them get reinstated from being suspended or banned.

 

Based on her success and experience getting people back to selling, she launched her official Reinstatement services in February 2015. She was flooded with business. The need is great, and the stakes are incredibly high. Many sellers fail when they write the appeal themselves, which can lead to them being permanently banned from selling. Cynthia has developed a system for analyzing sellers’ mistakes, appealing to Amazon and – in most cases – getting her clients’ businesses back up and running. Today, I’m chatting with Chris Anderson from Superhero Sellers. Chris has been a significant contributor across several Amazon online communities and Facebook groups and has become one of the most respected people throughout our community.

Chris got started as an entrepreneur as a young teenager, when he owned his own lawncare business mowing lawns throughout his local community. He has experience in internet marketing and online selling on platforms such as eBay and Etsy before launching his Amazon business. A recent article authored by our friend, Cynthia Stine, has resulted in a lot of confusion for Amazon sellers in the Retail Arbitrage space. First, we’d like to say that we have a lot of respect for Cynthia – she has been a huge supporter and teacher to the Amazon seller community. Secondly, we’d like to address that much of the hysteria, concern, and confusion surrounding this article isn’t really necessary.

Today, on the Unstoppable Entrepreneur Show, we’d like to calm the waters a bit and explain exactly what we think Cynthia meant in her article, as well as re-state what was mentioned at the Women’s Entrepreneur Conference regarding Retail Arbitrage, Counterfeit items, and the policy changes may affect your business as well as our advice on how you should consider pivoting your business model to accommodate the changes in the marketplace.
